Well not so much throw away, but I always find myself doing laundry on Thursday, and finding something in my loads of laundry that needs to be donated. I saw something pretty cool the other day on Facebook, it was in alignment with the practice of the Christian season of Lent. It's a season of both taking away things (swearing off bad habits, soda and such) and adding things... anyhow, the idea was having a large garbage bag in your bedroom or main closet area, and each day of Lent, taking a break on Sundays, you find something in your closet to get rid of and donate. At the end of the season you take your wares to your local clothes lockers. I might suggest The Salvation Army, your church clothes closet, and in many cities they have women's crisis centers (women escaping a violent environment) that are always needing clothes, linens both for women and children. Not only are you thinning out the clutter and rubbish in your wardrobe, you are giving back to the community as well. Whatever season of retrospect you practice, this is a great idea to apply it to!
I think I will do that exercise for Lent. It is one that makes sense.
