Well, the Duchess rose at the first light of the new year and then promptly fell asleep... sort of. January was a lesson in setting my boundaries, organizing my thoughts and plans and trying to figure out my purpose. Safe to say I didn't get much done in the realm of crafting or blogging, but I feel as if I've found some purpose in my Duchess of Sassy Town's Crafty and Self Care Goals FB group. It's a small group that I hope grows this year. So please check it out HERE and spread the word. I for one know it's NEVER too late to start this journey, in your life or for this year. It's JUST a calendar, you can start anytime.
February... February planning is happening and pictures on Instagram @theduchessofsassytown so go check those out as well. Right now I have two working planners, and four working traveler's notebooks. My Heidi Swapp 'One Day at a Time' planner is for my blog planning, creative endeavors and all my 'Duchess' stuff. My Carpe Diem planner is for my church calendar stuff and prayer binder. I have four Webster's Pages traveler's notebooks; one for daily stuff, one for my AA stuff, one for my heart stuff and the other for my Christ Care church team stuff. Whew... I'm just tired writing that. I know it's a lot, but I hope this year it will keep me on schedule. The one thing I have discovered that being 'retired' means I need structure. This year I decided that my planners will help me with that structure in all the areas of my life.
It wasn't until 2017 that I had learned all about meal planning, seriously... well, meal planning in my planner. Last year I learned how much I was obsessed with traveler's notebooks.... you know how that goes. 2018 was the birth of the Duchess... on my own birthday month I re-launched this blog with a new brand (Formerly Altered Whimseys) and have been working hard to get it 'going' and my groups on FB growing, and my Instagram thriving... it's a slow process when you're a little known crafter... hopefully that won't be the case after the end of this year.
