Instagram replacing blogs????

Social media is changing by the moment, every breathe we take there is a new word, there is a new trend, a new app to show the world our fabulousness... Trying to keep up is seriously making my head hurt. A couple of weeks I sat in on a women's 'Clubhouse' chat (Clubhouse is the newest trend in social media and marketing, and once again I feel like I'm in HS and want to be the popular girl, but that's a whole other issue and blog post).... talking about the relevance of videos in Instagram, and how IG is now trying to force it's posters to do videos instead of the straight traditional picture show and post.... which is why I joined IG in the first place, less drama, straight to the crafty networking chase, and no video... I don't do You Tube, certainly not going to do IG Video, I podcast, I talk.... that's what I do. I encourage, inform, and entertain... but don't force me to put on make up and do a video... it's just not me.... Which brings me to the big question.... is blogging even relevant anymore.....

The Duchess Podcast and New Stuff coming soon...

After almost a year of researching and experimenting with different podcast platforms and services I finally found one that is easy to use. It's Anchor, and you can use it on your computer as well as your Apple and Android devices through their app. Once your podcast is recorded, Anchor distributes it throughout the major podcast platforms such as iTunes, Audible and Anchor's own listening platform in the Anchor app.  Anchor also gives you the tools to easily monetize your podcast... meaning you can earn money! 

Ok, enough of the advertising for Anchor here... let's get on with the fun stuff...The Duchess podcast. Starting next week the Duchess will have a fresh podcast every Friday with news about the paper crafting industry, self-care hacks, crafty hacks, fun journaling challenges, encouragement, and general sassy-ness. Are you ready? I'm ready! Well, not yet.... for the next few days I will be getting ready...looking for fun news, creating a great first challenge, and inspiring your socks off. Great podcasts don't happen overnight.

What does happen overnight at the Duchess's studio? Well, it's now officially Saturday... and I have a lot on my plate for today, mainly planning the podcast for next Friday's premiere, coloring my hair, and planning blog posts... oh yeah, and setting up a meeting time for the Rancho Cordova Paper Crafting Society. (That's a post for tomorrow)

Right now I'm feeling a little like Josie Gellar.... you know JOSIE GELLAR from Never Been Kissed, one of my favorite Drew Barrymore movies. See, I was 'Josie Grossie' in Jr. High, total dweeb and invisible girl. Why do I think I'm like Josie? Well, for the first time in my life I'm comfortable in my own skin, not afraid to be ME, and blossoming in the paper crafting industry. I no longer feel like the ignored outcast that used to be afraid of her own voice. Yes that was me...

Now I'm a panel member of the Storyline scrapbooking line by Heidi Swapp, I'm the local Cricut expert at my local Michael's, and my Instagram page is starting to get some serious love.. (by the way, if you haven't already checked it out, please do so @theduchessofsassytown ) Sometimes I have to pinch myself to see if I'm dreaming.... I'm not.
