Creativity in Uncertain Times...

Hello... writing to you from Northern California, for those of you who don't know me personally. Today is going on day 9 of self-imposed isolation, now state mandated shelter in place. Right now I feel like I'm in an episode of the Twilight Zone. My advice, don't react to what you are seeing and hearing on TV and social media, THINK and use information from the CDC and other certified sources. This isn't the time to listen to Uncle Joe the self-proclaimed know it all, or some meme you saw on Facebook. In fact, limit your FB time, limit your time watching the news. Check it daily for 15 minutes, the news that is. If you are currently shelter in place, use this time to do stuff around the house, connect online with friends, have virtual watch parties by watching your favorite movies and shows, discover or re-discover a new craft. Spend it with your family, instead of behind a laptop or from behind a phone. This time is rare, although a bit frightening, we have so many emotions to deal with now, and they are valid. However, do not dwell on them, do lot let worry rule your mind.

So that's my two cents, now on to something fun... what are you doing creatively? Do you play music or sing? Do you cook? Do you sew? Do you do paper crafting? Do you draw or paint? Now is the time to explore your creativity a little deeper. You Tube is overflowing with classes and do it yourself videos on hobbies of all kinds. On Facebook there are groups for pretty much every craft you can think of, join them... make new virtual friends, and reconnect with old friends in the groups you already belong to. This is a time to spread your wings and fly (just as long as it's six feet away from others, or virtually if you are shelter in place).

Peace and Blessings

The Duchess.
