'Twas the day before Thanksgiving
and the kitchen was clean,
not a potato, or cranberry, or turkey was seen.
The mixer was silent,
dishwasher ran,
not a sight of a baster,
not even a pan.
For tomorrow morning the TV will blare
Macy's Parade and football fare.
Family will gather and thanks will be made...
And not for all the gold in the world
this time I will trade.
