Yes.... it's Monday again. Funny how that happens. Monday really shouldn't have to be the bane of all days, it could be a day of planning for great things and even a day of meditation. I know, you probably think I'm nuts because most of you reading this all have full time M-F full time jobs and I'm a freelance home maker who seemingly has all the time in the world... well sometimes I do. I don't have children so that frees up a lot of time.
One of the things I've re-discovered that has made my planning so much easier for the week ahead is listing... lists are the key. Lists are also fun as well, for journaling and crafting. For getting your life in order lists have made my life so much easier. I start off with a daily 'to do' list that I have on my fridge downstairs. I usually make up my list on Sunday night when I work on my weekly planning. Yes, even for someone who doesn't have a 9-5 or children, I do have a lot to do... I DO have a life. Here are a few tips to make your life a little easier...
* Do your weekly planning on Sunday night, when it's quiet and you have time to focus (if you have small children, after they are put to bed is a good time).
* Plan out (or allocate if you have children of chore age) your chores throughout the week, don't just have one day full of chores, you'll tire yourself out. Space them out. Dust one day, vacuum another, mop another. Set aside larger projects for the weekend if you have a 9-5.
* If you don't have a planner or if you don't 'plan out' your weeks.... give it a try....
* Start with small realistic lists... you're not here to save the world. Trust me, you won't be able to finish a huge list and you'll end up feeling frustrated and not wanting to do it again... the tasks or the list.
So that's my little 411 on lists and planning. Happy Monday!
