This year I promised myself, and you, my readers, daily content. It is not easy.Especially when you are sick, and that was my issue last year. I was always sick. Not fun when you live with chronic illness, however this week's set back is courtesy of the good old fashioned flu. It can often be mislabeled... we often think of the stomach flu when we have the upset belly... no such thing. That's just gastroenteritis, yesterday I was diagnosed with the full on influenza. This is the worst flu season in history according to the Centers for Disease Control. Why? Because we don't cover our mouths when we cough, we don't wash our hands enough, and we don't properly protect ourselves in public. As a consumer of public transportation I am assaulted on a daily basis with germs, I watch kids sneeze and wipe their hands everywhere and their mother's just smile and think it's cute that Johnny sneezed and laughed. People just have taken for granted that the flu shot will work and they are immune. Well, you're not. I had the flu shot, and now here I am, writing this blog from my bed with a prescription of Tamiflu by my side. So whether you think you're sick or not, cover your mouth with the inside of your arm when you cough, that way you are not contaminating your hands. Wear a mask if you are sick so you do not pass it to others if you think you have to go out. Not all of us are the pictures of health, and just one little bug can put us in the hospital, or even kill us.... ok... germ laden rant over...
