When you have amassed such a collection of craft supplies, tools and papers as I have, and now you have a dedicated crafting space, the question is... to crop or not to crop? For those of you who don't know what a crop is, it's a paper crafting social event usually at a local scrapbook store. You bring what you want to work on, or like me, you pack like it's the papercrafting apocalypse and leave nothing behind in your craft space. You tell your significant other they're on their own for dinner and you are good to go.
Me? I haven't been to a crop in over ten years, until today. Today I participated in the Third Saturday Crop at It's All About the Scrapbook, a great little scrapbook store located in Dixon, CA (Between Vacaville and Sacramento). For $15 you get a six foot table, a comfy chair, a smorgie of great snacks and drinks and they run you a tab on supplies. Today there was about 20 of us, I knew a few of them, and also made some new friends.
Today I bought my Heidi Swapp Storyline products, forgot my papers and my cutting mats for Cricut, and felt totally awkward and out of my element when I got here. After working on two pages over the course of two hours I just want to go home and work in my own space in my jammies... For those who do not have a designated crafty space and and who want some 'quiet craft time' away from noisy littles going to a crop is the thing. If I had a group to go with it would be fun, I used to do that in the good old days with the Scrapbook Sorority. I miss those days. Sigh.
