I thought I was getting ahead of the game this year, got my flu shot early (having autoimmune disease I have to think ahead for this life saving vaccine), went camping, returned home and promptly got sick. I don't have time for this, I have a blog to write, I've got cards to design, I've got videos to produce and I'm reduced to a quivering snot monster on the couch. Fortunately, one of the things which has led to my germ laden life has gone away with the receiving of my driver's license and purchase of new car....No more riding the 'Petri Dish on Wheels' aka public transportation. Yay me!
(For those of you who don't know, I had an awful car accident last year for which the DMV medically suspended my license and my car was totaled. Me? I'm doing much better...)
So, my first week of having said car was spent going to the Dr. and Walgreens for copious amounts of cold drugs, antibiotics, and Gatorade Zero. I was so looking forward a road trip up to Apple Hill, trips to my favorite not so local scrapbook store It's All About the Scrapbook, and various fun side trips that have been out of reach for the past year.
About the title? Nope, you cannot craft with the crud.... it's just not possible. For one, you take the risk of sneezing goo all over your crafty paper (Eww, gross, I know, but the struggle is real). Comfort, well, you're either hot or cold and trying to wrap yourself in your duvet, hold onto tissues, and successfully operate a paper cutter.... that's an emergency room visit waiting to happen.
My advice to you.... Take your ideas to bed. Grab your traveler's notebook, a pen and pad, whatever you jot your ideas down in, and spend your down time brainstorming. Trying to push yourself into crafting you'll just be a quivering frustrated mess with tissues bound to your fingers with adhesive. Self care is key, and when you're sick, BE sick and take care of you. Rest, heal, pamper yourself with cozy jammies and hot tea. You'll thank yourself when you're all better and you have pages of ideas and enough energy to complete said projects.
