The Day After Thanksgiving.... aka Christmas Holiday's Start!!!

As a non crafter many people scoff at all the Christmas product being put out before Thanksgiving, and even before Halloween at many of the craft stores, what they don't realize is that as crafters, we have to start waaaay before Christmas to get stuff done for Christmas. We're humans, we're not magical little elves that pop out brilliant decorations with a sprinkling of pixie dust. It takes months, days, and many many hours to produce our works of holiday art. Right now I'm having to crank out Christmas cards on a daily basis to keep my Etsy store stocked. The day after Thanksgiving for many is 'Black Friday' when you go get trampled at the local Wal Mart for a $50 45 inch plasma TV... for the crafty world, it's when the gauntlet is thrown and our lives are overwhelmed by glitter, glue and sleepless nights trying to put out original product in our stores. Tomorrow is Small Business Saturday, so I urge you to pass by Macy's and Target, and shop an Etsy store of an artist striving to bring you original and handmade content.

Being a small business entrepreneur isn't easy. We have to use our own money, which usually is scarce, to use for product creation, marketing, shipping and other incidentals. All with the hopes that someone will buy your product.

With that in mind, it's Christmas card season and click on the I Sell on Etsy button on the side to be directed to my Etsy Store, AlteredWhimseys. There you will find cards for the holidays and then some! As a crafter, I need to get off the laptop here and start creating! Happy shopping!!!
